How to Get a Word Count in Powerpoint for Office 365

Word counts are an important elements of certain documents that you create for your school or organization. Whether your specific assignment requires that you reach a certain number of words, or you simply prefer to create documents that are a particular length, the word count can be an important piece of information.

While it’s very easy to find the word count in some programs, like Word, it’s a little trickier in Powerpoint. Fortunately it’s still possible, and our guide below will show you how to get a word count in your Powerpoint presentation.

Word Count in Powerpoint

The steps in this article were performed in the Powerpoint for Office 365 application. By completing this process you will discover the total number of words in your slideshow.

Step 1: Open your Powerpoint presentation.

Step 2: Select the File tab at the top-left of the window.

Step 3: Choose the Info tab at the left side of the window.

Step 4: Click the Show All Properties button at the bottom of the right column.

Step 5: Find the word count to the right of Words in the right column.
