How to Delete a Picture from a Slide in Powerpoint for Office 365

posted on May 14, 2019

Adding media to slides in a Powerpoint presentation is a great way to include visual elements that will help to keep your audience’s attention. Whether you have decided to include pictures or videos, it can really help to break up the monotony of a lot of text.

But occasionally you might find that a picture isn’t helpful, or isn’t conveying the point that you want it to. Therefore it becomes important to delete that picture from the slide so that you can replace it with either a different picture or a different element. Our guide below is going to show you two different ways to delete a picture from a slideshow in Powerpoint if you no longer wish to see that picture on your slide.

How to Remove a Picture in Powerpoint

The steps in this article were performed in the Microsoft Powerpoint for Office 365 version of the application, but will also work for most earlier versions of Powerpoint as well.

Step 1: Open your presentation in Powerpoint.

Step 2: Select the slide at the left side of the window that contains the picture you wish to delete.

choose the slide with the picture to delete

Step 3: Click on the picture to select it.

Alternatively, while the picture is selected, you can press the Delete key or the Backspace key on your keyboard.
