Microsoft Word lets you add page breaks to your document to automatically start a new page. However, it’s possible that you want to remove a page break in Word for Office 365 when you would prefer the new page to occur naturally.
Documents in Microsoft Word can be formatted in a variety of ways. You may want to change your font, or font color, but you might also need to add some structural elements that affect the layout of your content.
But removing these structural formatting options can be a little tricky, usually because you can’t see them in the document by default.

- Open the document.
- Select the Home tab.
- Click the Show/Hide button.
- Double-click the page break.
- Press the Backspace key.

How to Delete a Page Break in Microsoft Word for Office 365
The steps in this article were performed in the Windows desktop version of Microsoft Word for Office 365. These steps will also work in many other versions of Word as well.
Step 1: Open your document in Microsoft Word.
Step 2: Select the Home tab at the top of the window.
Step 3: Click the Show/Hide button in the Paragraph section of the ribbon. It looks kind of like a backwards “P”.
Step 4: Double-click the page break that you want to remove.
Step 5: Press the Backspace or Delete key on your keyboard to remove the page break from the document.
Your document can look very different when all of the formatting marks are visible, so you may wish to stop showing them. You can hide the formatting marks by clicking the Show/Hide button on the Home tab again.
