posted on October 5, 2020

Adding a table in Google Docs is an effective way to display certain types of data. But you may decide that you don’t need that table and it becomes necessary to remove it. Use these steps to delete a table on Google Docs.

  1. Sign into Google Drive and open the document.
  2. Right-click in one of the table cells.
  3. Choose the Delete table option.

Our article continues below with more information and pictures of these steps.

It’s unlikely that the first draft of a document is going to be perfect. You might forget to cover a topic, or decide that something isn’t relevant.

But you may find yourself editing a document that has a table which you decide isn’t helpful or necessary.

While tables can be useful in a number of situations, they can also distract from the document content, or they may simply contain information that you later find to be incorrect or unnecessary.

Our guide below will show you how to delete a table in Google Docs so that you can easily remove the entire table and its contents from the document.

How to Remove a Table from Google Docs

The steps in this article were performed in the desktop version of the Google Chrome Web browser, but will also work in other desktop browsers like Firefox or Edge.
